These areas are a vital foundation for childrens development and underpin all other areas of learning
Personal Social & Emotional;
Children will be experiencing lots of big emotions as they learn to play alongside and with other children. We support children how to regulate their feelings, actions and behaviours. We support this through validating and naming emotions and modelling desired behaviour. Children are supported to be kind, considerate and to help each other.
Communication and Language.
Children will be learning new words and how to use them to communicate. Using commentary and narrating during play, singing nursery rhymes and sharing books all support this vital development. We use a total communication approach which means that all forms of communication the children use are responded to. This could be body language and facial expression, Makaton, visuals, choice boards and devices

Physical Development;
Children need to build gross motor and fine motor skills. We support this through playdough, painting, outside play with climbing and jumping. Good physical development is important and supports areas like writing and toilet training. and
